Australian Christian Conscience Statement of Faith There is a Creator God, and He has revealed himself to mankind, most importantly through His Son, Jesus Christ, and through the sixty-six books of the Bible. Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. Our primary allegiance is to the Word of God, both living (the Lord Jesus Christ) and written (the 66 books of the Bible). Our faith is not in particular theories, evidences or doctrines, nor in particular denominations, leaders [excepting Christ] or rituals, nor in relics, experiences or manifestations. The Godhead is triune, comprising God Almighty (the Father), the Word (God the Son, Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. The Bible tells the true history of the world, from beginning to end, and is the ultimate authority on all matters on which it speaks. The universe, the earth, and everything in them were created in six consecutive ordinary length days, as recorded in the Bible, and this was about six thousand years ago. There was a global Flood during which all people except those in the Ark were destroyed, as recorded in the Bible. All people are descendants of Adam and Eve, the first man and woman. Adam and Eve sinned and all their descendants inherited their sin nature. All people are sinners in need of Salvation. Freedom from the penalty and power of sin is available to man only through the sacrificial death and shed blood of Jesus Christ, and His complete and bodily Resurrection from the dead. There will be a resurrection of the dead. Those with faith in Christ Jesus will be resurrected to eternal Life, and those who rejected Him will be resurrected to eternal conscious punishment. Evolution of one kind of organism into another is a myth. All human life is sacred. No single human has the right to deliberately kill another except in rare medical circumstances. Life begins at conception. Abortion, under any circumstances other than when the mother’s life is at physical risk, is murder. God ordained the family as the basic building block of society. The only legitimate sexual relations recognised by God are those between a husband born a man and wife born a woman. Any form of sexual gratification outside of the marriage bed is unacceptable in God’s sight and, in all cases, detrimental to the individuals involved.
